COMMUNITY SHIFT NURSE - OTTAWA REGION & EASTERN COUNTIES

Access Healthcare Services Inc. is looking for passionate nurses to join our growing community Palliative Care team providing care to clients in their home. This position is Full Time Permanent. Must be available overnights.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality, client centred nursing care
• Develop and evaluate care plans in collaboration with the client
• Provide palliative and end of life care as per nursing best practices
• Demonstrate the mission, vision and values of Access Healthcare Services Inc. while providing care to clients and/or caregivers
• Understand and practice infection prevention and control measures
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education opportunities
• Be willing to participate in the on call rotation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure client needs are met

What you will need:

• Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse, Degree/Diploma
• Current registration and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current CPR
• LEAP training preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Use of insured reliable vehicle
• Vulnerable police check-negative

The experience we are looking for:

• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience within the last 3 years preferred however New Grads are welcome to apply
• Palliative Care experience preferred (willing to provide training to the right candidate)
• Previous experience in community care an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual considered an asset
• Cultural education and experience
