POSITION: Delivery Driver Assistant – Foodservice

HOURS:

• 44 hours per week (approximate) with overtime (Based on seasonal and customer demand)
• Driver Assistants are operational up to 5 days per week Monday-Friday
• Start times vary from 2:30am until 5:45am
• Operational all Public Holidays except Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Years Day

DIRECT REPORT: Transportation Supervisor

COMPENSATION:

• $19.50/ hour to start and during training, $20.00 after positive 3mth review
• Eligibility for Group Health & Dental, RRSP, DPSP, paid sick leave, and boot allowance after a positive 3-month review

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in delivering product to customer in a timely manner
• Must have own vehicle to reliably attend work
• Provide friendly customer service and enhance the customer experience
• Report to work on time and be in uniform

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Accountable assisting professional service delivery drivers in the completion of daily runs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking (With and without product on a dolly)
• Prolonged standing
• Must enjoy an active career
• Lifting, bending, twisting
• Good hand/ eye coordination
• Physically fit and enjoy and active career (A bona-fide requirement of this position is to be able to lift up to 40 kg or 85lbs at any point during the work shift)

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, rules and regulations as required by the company and legislation.
• Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
• Report any workplace hazards to JHSC and your Supervisor
• Ensure correct handling and storage of all tools, product, chemicals, equipment

KNOWN HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION:

• Rolling or accidental dropping of material – required PPE (Steel toe work boots)
• Muscle strain – required to practice safe lifting as instructed and do warmups before shift

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Willingness to learn and aid in providing a high level of customer experience
• Attendance is crucial in this role
