To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add an Engineer to the team.

Reporting to the Engineering Lead Hand, this position is responsible for the mechanical design of custom HVAC air handlers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing of mechanical equipment for functionality, serviceability and performance. This will require familiarity of SSM manufacturing principles, guidelines and knowledge of components commonly used in air handlers.
• Drafting of air handling equipment using AutoCAD and IronCAD.
• Liaising with the electrical designers to ensure design conformance and submittal accuracy.
• Creating submittals for issuance to our external customers.
• Selecting components used for the design of the Scott Springfield product line. This may include the use of selection software or consultation with vendors to ensure proper component selection for performance and price.
• Researching codes and standards.
• Updating and maintaining the internal standards documentation.
• Providing technical assistance in the application and design of mechanical equipment for specific projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Engineering degree or diploma with eligibility or membership in APEGA or ASET.
• Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing priorities.
• Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.
