Driving Volunteer Job at Haliburton Highlands Health Services
Currently we are looking for short and long distance drivers. Drivers from throughout the Haliburton County are welcome!
Volunteer Drivers are needed throughout the Haliburton Highlands to take clients of HHHS - Community Support Services to medical appointments locally and in neighbouring regions ( Lindsay, Peterborough, Lindsay, Bracebridge, Bancroft etc.) Some longer distance drives to major centres may also be offered to our volunteers. Volunteers choose which drives they accept based on their availability and comfort level.
Volunteers utilize their own vehicles and are compensated for their out of pocket expenses at a rate of $0.48/km to cover gas, vehicle maintenance, depreciation, insurance etc...
Volunteers must have clear driving record ( no demerit points in the last three years) and provide a Driver's Abstract, available at Service Ontario, to HHHS Volunteer Services. A driver evaluation is performed prior to onboarding.
A Vulnerable Sector Police Check is performed on all of our HHHS Volunteers.

COVID-19 considerations:
All HHHS volunteers must be fully vaccinated for Covid - 19 with an approved vaccine and must provide their vaccine certificate at the time of coming on board.
Our drivers and clients must be masked during the service time. Vehicles must be thoroughly sanitized after each drive.
