ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION TRADESPERSON

The Opportunity:

We currently have an opportunity within our operation for an Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson at Irving Tissue in Saint John, New Brunswick.

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson you will perform all aspects of electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repairs at the tissue mill. As well you will perform the required troubleshooting, programming and research to maintain and improve existing distributed controls, programmable controls, mill process controls and electrical distribution systems. You will assist in continuous improvement through instrument tuning and system program changes. On call coverage and shift work may be required.

We operate four Pulp and Paper Mills out of Saint John and St. George, New Brunswick that produce a combined 1 Million Tonnes of Product and employ over 1000 employees. Irving Tissue produces quality parent rolls of tissue, providing the strength and softness that have made our leading consumer and private label brands the choice of customers throughout North America.

You Have:

• Industrial Controls Technology Diploma, Industrial Electrical Journeyperson license, Construction Electrical Journeyperson license or an Instrumentation Journeyperson License.
• Self-motivation and have a strong personal drive.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems, Rockwell programmable logic controls, variable speed drives (stand alone and coordinated paper machine applications)
• Working knowledge of high voltage switchgear, transformers and system protection as well as computer experience
• Knowledge of Factory Talk and process networks would be an asset.
• Previous experience in a similar industry would be an asset.
