The EDI Specialist role is responsible for developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations (third-party applications to Epicor CMS), services, file transfer, and EDI.


The EDI Specialist is part of the Fabrications Group IT Operations team and reports directly to the ERP Systems Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:


  • Responsible for managing changes to EDI services and ensuring that new partners are added efficiently for the Fabrication Group. Support and monitor the EDI applications for the Fabrication Group.
  • Ensure that other complex systems and data integrations integrated with CMS run smoothly.
  • Assists in resolving CMS and other interfaces-related helpdesk issues, creating new labels etc.
  • Research, design and communicate integration solutions as part of projects or ongoing systems maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal and external IT groups in a team environment to understand current and future needs, and build solutions
  • Prepare and update documentation for future reference and maintenance needs
  • Continuous improvements to current integrations and develop new functionality
  • Provide support to end users and other IT personnel as and when needed
  • Research, understand and stay current with relevant business and technology
  • Trends
  • Travel may be required to Fabrication sites in Canada and the US for implementations and support as needed
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of departmental goals.
  • Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • University Degree in Information Technology or Higher.
  • 10 or more years of experience in IT solutions delivery and architecture.
  • Programming proficiency in RPG ILE, SQL/400, Query/400 and knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic is considered an asset
  • Prior experience working with ERP or Supply Chain solutions
  • Experience in the Epicor CMS database structure especially production and IBM Data Queue technology is considered an asset
  • Good knowledge of relevant EDIFACT & ANSI X.12 standards is required along with knowledge of the main communications protocols such as XML or Web Services
  • Solid experience with EDI tools such as TrustedLink for iSeries (Tli) and TrustedLink for Windows (TLw)
