EODSA Technical Lead and Committee Chair
Part-Time, One Year Contract with the possibility of extension
The Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association is a not-for-profit organization and the governing body for soccer in Eastern
Ontario. The EODSA is comprised of over 60 Clubs and represents over 40,000 soccer players. The EODSA develops,
supports, governs, and maintains the game of soccer, both indoor and outdoor, within the geographic boundaries
stipulated by Ontario Soccer.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will work with Club Technical Directors to develop and
execute a sound annual calendar of programming for players aged 8 to 18, following best practices from Canada Soccer and
Ontario Soccer. The EODSA has technically strong Clubs and an alignment of those Clubs to one shared calendar is a
priority of the EODSA.
The successful candidate will have the ability to cultivate relationships, lead with integrity, and provide firm guidance to
the Technical Advisory Group (Terms of Reference attached as appendix A). As the lead technical position within the
EODSA, the TD will be a nationally accredited soccer coach. The TD will not be a current staff person, Coach, Board
member or owner of a soccer entity that is within the EODSA boundaries.
The EODSA is a virtual service provider, however, in-person meetings in the Ottawa area at minimum twice annually
could be necessary.

DUTIES
Develop an annual program calendar including league play and incorporating appropriate periodization
Provide technical support to Clubs that choose to request assistance
Report at prescribed intervals to the EODSA Board including a thorough report at the end of the contract year
Report and consult with the Executive Director on logistics associated with altering program structures

Ability to create and implement programs within expected timelines, building in key performance indicators
Experienced coach mentor
Superior organizational and time management skills
Excellent work and personal ethics
ADDITIONAL
Must be available to work non-traditional hours
Knowledge of the Ottawa and Ottawa Valley areas is an asset
Strong communication skill, both written and verbal

Appendix A
Terms of Reference
Technical Advisory Group (TAG)
EODSA Operations Committee
Mandate
To provide input, guidance and support through the technical leaders, in line with the overall goals and objectives of our
District.
Objectives
Through consultation meetings the TAG will discuss matters related to the development of the game in our District.
Composition
The Technical Advisory Group will be made up of the Technical Director, Club Head Coach, or their designate, of each EODSA
member Club. Depending on the nature of the meeting, guests may be invited, such as Team Coaches and Leagues. The
Chair of the Committee will be appointed by the Executive Director and may be an individual who is not a representative of a
member Club. The Executive Director is a member ex-officio of each committee and may appoint a designate to represent
him or her. As this is an operational committee, EODSA Board members are not eligible to participate.
Reporting Structure
The Membership Committee reports to the Executive Director. Any recommendations of the Committee will be presented to
the Board by the Executive Director, as written by the Committee.
Appointment Duration
All members of TAG will remain on the committee by virtue of their role at their Club.
Meetings
The committee will meet at the call of the Chair, at least four times annually and conduct correspondence and
teleconferences at the discretion of the Chair.
Quorum
A quorum will be the majority of the Committee’s members.
Review & Approval
The Board will review the committee’s Terms of Reference and performance annually.
