Job Title: General Labourer (weekend shift)

BECC Modular is a rapidly growing volumetric modular design build company, focused on building various modular buildings, from small scale shelters and institutional buildings to large scale affordable multi-residential housing projects across Ontario. With numerous projects won and more on the way, we are building our Construction & Management Team to be the first in hand to see our buildings come to life.
Looking for skilled construction workers that are tired of traveling to different sites all over Ontario. Enjoy working in our climate-controlled facility in a convenient location minutes from the 403.
Enjoy 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks including loading materials into production machines, removing, packing and sorting raw materials or finished products using manual or power equipment. This position may be responsible for cleaning work areas and equipment performing other tasks as needed.

PERFORMACNE EXPECTATIONS

• Load and unload parts and materials for production.
• Pack and sort raw materials or finished products.
• Assist in the preparation and transportation of material to various production lines.
• Operation of both manual and powered hand tools and equipment.
• Assist in meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Assist in the cleanliness of the work area.
• Follow priorities set by supervisors and sequence their tasks within a set framework.
• Ability to work on tasks that are generally repetitive.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location
• Ability to properly use required hand tools, power tools, hoists cranes, measuring devices and testing equipment.
• Ensure that daily tasks are done in accordance with the BECC’s SOP’s.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with power tools is a must.
• Experience with forklift is an asset.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and calibrated measuring tools an asset.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, understanding the need for urgency to meet production schedules.
• Ability to understand and adhere to BECC tolerances.
• Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Strong attention to detail, basic math skills and knowledge of basic hand tools and automated machinery and proper use
• Experience in subfloor, flooring, drywall, windows and doors, insulation, HVAC and general handiwork is considered an asset
