Global Consulting Senior Consultant, Multinational Client Segment (MCS)

Mercer is looking for an experienced and talented professional with 20+ years’ experience within HR, across both global/regional including employee benefits, general HR consulting, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and who is keen to further their career. The core business of MCS is on consulting with multinationals and subsidiaries of multinational clients across a variety of health, wealth and career issues.

This is an opportunity to join a great specialist team providing clients with leading edge advice whether that be a regional consulting project, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, IPO, restructuring or other similar to multinational companies.

This person must also have experience on dealing with C-Suite and top executives of multinationals, being able to partner with other sales team to secure new clients/projects and represent Mercer publicly and contribute to global, regional and local initiatives (sales growth, improvement of delivery, talent, intellectual capital, and other similar).

We will count on you to:

  • Proactively sell and win services to new and existing clients.

  • Generate a measurable contribution in increased revenue and margins.

  • Understand financial metrics of business and applies this to set business goals.

  • Manage international consulting relationships with client at board level.

  • Handle complex and difficult client issues.

  • Manage international program and project delivery.

  • Oversee intellectual capital and training initiatives including conceptualizing new client issue campaigns and tool development.

  • Help set long term business strategy, direction and focus.

  • Raise profile of international consulting. Have a high degree of credibility with colleagues in other businesses and whose advice and input is actively sought and trusted.

  • Build partnerships across businesses and geographies to maximize benefits to clients and colleagues.

  • Delegate effectively to provide developmental opportunities to team members, engaging staff to deliver business results.

What you need to have:

  • We are open to different backgrounds from a consultancy or advisory standing or within the HR sector with a focus on planning, structuring and implementing global/regional work with multinationals as well as M&A transactions. Ideally acquired in an international environment.

  • An aptitude to be curious, learn and embrace opportunities.

What makes you stand out:

  • Track record in sales growth and developing / implementing business development initiatives in HR M&A / consulting space

  • Comfortable delivering on commitments and associated engagement with key stakeholders

  • Team and customer-orientated working style. High motivation and initiative

  • Experience in managing virtual / regional project teams as well as direct reports, thriving for collaboration in a flat hierarchy structure

  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders with different seniorities / geographies / languages

  • Solution orientated approach to consulting projects with constantly changing requirements / deadlines
