Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Plant Technical Writer , reporting to the Plant Readiness Manager. Working closely with the Plant Manager, Plant Superintendents, and the Plant Operational Readiness Manager, the Senior Plant Technical Writer is responsible for drafting Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Procedures for the operation and maintenance of the mill and supporting facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Provide input into the standards and quality processes for policies and procedure development to ensure documents are complete, clear and concise
Develop and maintain the Operations glossary, to ensure consistent use of terminology across the site
In collaboration with the Plant Manager and Operational Readiness Manager, ensure the templates used for Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Procedures are established and effective
Draft procedures as assigned, leveraging procedures from previous operations with similar processes and layouts
As assigned, review Plant and Mine procedures developed by others to ensure they comply with the template and document control standards, and are clear, concise, complete and interface appropriately with other related procedures.
Provide training and feedback to others who are developing procedures, as appropriate
Ensure procedure review and approval processes are followed
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Excellent writing skills, able to communicate in writing clearly and succinctly Good knowledge of Office 365
Strong attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents
Excellent word processing and document content manipulation skills
Ability to edit documents to make them clearer to the user without losing important information
Ability to work accurately and independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Engineering and technical writing education of diploma
3+ years’ experience writing procedures and other technical documents, experience in the mining industry an asset
Experience with a mining terms and nomenclature is an asset
LOCATION This is an 18-month contract, working remotely with business trips to site in Greenstone, ON as required.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
