Handydart Driver Job at First Transit Canada
HANDYDART BUS DRIVER
Drive Your Career with First Transit Canada, our Nations’ largest provider of bus passenger transportation. Currently recruiting for casual -leading to full time- handyDART for our Cowichan Valley (Duncan) BC location.
Previous transit experience is not required. We offer an excellent paid training program, and competitive wages including progressive increases in a unionized environment.
If you are available for shift work including some evenings and weekends, can provide World Class Customer Service with an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction and safety, and have at least a valid Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License with not less than 3 years safe driving experience, please apply today!
You will:
Comply with health and safety regulations in the workplace;
Enjoy interacting with the public;
Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor;
Adhere to all First Transit policies and procedures
Previous Transit or Handydart experience not required, we will train
You have:
A valid Class 4 unrestricted license or higher is required
Have a clean drivers abstract
To be able to pass vulnerable sector records check;
To be able to pass pre employment drug testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Transit environment: early, split & late shifts may be required
Per BC Transit's handyDART user guide, must be physically able to push clients up to 250 lbs in a manual wheelchair up ramps
Safety focused, clean respectful environment
Transport passengers in a cutaway style bus
