St. Andrew’s College is seeking an individual to lead a security team in providing security and protection for our campus at 15800 Yonge Street in Aurora, Ontario.

We invite applications for the full-time position of: HEAD SECURITY GUARD

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepare weekly schedules for security guard coverage
• Supervise security guards and provide training
• Approve security guard hours and submit to payroll
• Ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff and guests while protecting school property and assets
• Provide a visible presence by conducting regular patrols of school property
• Maintain log
• Monitor CCTV screens
• Conduct parking control measures
• Enforce safety codes, regulations and procedures
• Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events with the Risk Management team

The schedule for this position is Monday to Thursday, 3 to 11 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexibility in scheduling, including the occasional weekend, is required.

Required Skills:

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Strong leadership qualities
• Good working knowledge of current security technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Ability to deal with crisis situations as they arise
• Confidentiality and diplomacy are of paramount importance
• Mature judgment is required in dealing with occupants and visitors to the campus
• Requires considerable walking and climbing stairs throughout campus
• Class G driver’s license is necessary
• Current Vulnerable Sector Screening reference check
