Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar mining products, based out of our Finning Elkford Branch.
Opportunity to work on cutting edge equipment including the all new 794AC haul trucks, the all new 994K large wheel loader, 24-14 graders, 390 and 395 excavators and the all new D11 TKN just to list a few.
This position will work a 7 day on/7day off 12-hour continuous shift rotation which affords you time to enjoy all the amenities and lifestyle provided in the Elk Valley including world renowned down hill skiing/mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, outdoor motor sports and all other outdoor activities.
Industry leading potential total compensation plan: $160000 - $175000 / year

Job Description:
- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar general line equipment
- Perform a wide variety of equipment repair diagnostics
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- 2nd/3rd/4th year apprentices may be considered based on experience
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
- Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
- Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with Caterpillar general line products would be considered an asset
Notes:
- This position is located at our Finning Elkford branch based on a 7x7 continuous day shift
- Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
