Health and Social Services – Mayo

This posting is to hire one (1) full time term Housekeeper working 75 hours biweekly at the Mayo Health Centre; this eligibility list will be used to fill future permanent, term, and AOC positions that may become available.

Mayo Health Centre is a Primary Health Care clinic which includes 24-hour emergency services.

Reporting to the Nurse In Charge this position is responsible for providing housekeeping and laundry services for the Mayo Health Centre.

Essential Qualifications

• Recent experience performing duties related to housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial services
• Experience in Customer or Client focused service
• Experience with infection control practices
• Experience working in a private and confidential healthcare setting would be an asset

• Ability to perform a variety of housekeeping, laundry and custodial duties
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: TB Screening, WHMIS 2015, criminal record check with vulnerable sector

Job Requirements: Performs light and heavy cleaning duties, which includes bending, reaching, and heavy lifting of up to 25lbs, along with operating motorized equipment (i.e., washer/dryer). This position is exposed to harsh cleaning chemicals while carrying out cleaning duties, as well as exposure to unpleasant odours, contaminants and potential infectious materials.
