We are seeking an HR Administrator with at least 1 year of administrative experience and experience or education in Human Resources to join our team. This position is based out of our Head Office located in Nisku, AB.

What is the role?

Reporting to the HR Manager, the position of HR Administrator is responsible for assisting the team with human resource functions with a large focus on recruitment and onboarding. Responsibilities include:

  • Attracts applicants by posting job advertisements internally and externally, utilizing emerging technology-based methods and professional networking
  • Assists with monitoring applicant qualifications by reviewing resumes and comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Assists with recruitment and attends recruitment career fairs
  • Utilizes onboarding system for all onboarding forms, follow up when information is missing, creates personnel folder and saves relevant information in folder
  • Updates and creates interview plans and job descriptions
  • Monitors careers inbox daily, files incoming resumes and notifies team of any communications relevant to other departments/divisions
  • Assists HR Coordinators with the rewards programs
  • Assists the HR Manager with monthly reporting to the Operations team
  • Assists HR Coordinators with monthly and annual HR Reporting
  • Updates tracking sheets and ensures information matches records
  • Distributes, tracks, and follows up with employee surveys
  • Collects and submits drivers’ abstracts for review and approval
  • Assists the HR Manager with creating communications for distribution to employees
  • Assists HR Coordinators with Swag inventory and distribution
  • Maintains employee data and filing system with the team
  • Updates and creates internal forms as required
  • Coordinates team building activities for the HR team & other groups where desired
  • Updates both hourly and salary employee handbooks annually or when required
  • Participates in HR projects
  • Maintains confidential information

What do we value?

  • 1 year of office experience is desirable
  • Experience or education in Human Resources or recruitment is an asset
  • Excellent computer literacy and application skills with commonly used office productivity tools
  • Experience in the construction industry is a definite asset
  • Experience prioritizing high volume, high priority tasks and be able to respond quickly
