Financial Controller

This is a full-time position based out of our head office at 1960 Windsor Road in Kelowna, BC. Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

About the Role

BC Fasteners & Tools is seeking a dynamic, growth-focused staff member with strong skills in corporate finance and accounting who will oversee the integrity of all accounting transactions and supervise the financial reporting process. The Controller is a storyteller through numbers and is the lead business partner to the department heads.

Responsibilities:

· Full cycle accounting operations and reporting while ensuring full compliance with all regulations, taxes, and legal obligations relating to financial operations

· Interpretation and communication of results including business partnering with leadership team to drive efficiency gains and support growth plan

· Manage the production of annual budgets and forecasts

· Lead, coach and mentor the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team

· Review and support payroll

· Remit GST, PST, Corporate taxes, and Employer Heath Tax

· Issue timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements by branch as well as company wide

· Reconcile bank accounts

· Post journal entries as needed

· Prepare annual financial working papers

· Collaborate with an external accounting firm on year-end financial documents

· Create and maintain a documented systems of accounting policies and procedures

Skills, Education & Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration

· CPA designation is preferred

· Minimum 5 years related experience in a controller roll - accounting, financial analysis, and budget management

· Consumer goods experience preferred

· Experience with financial accounting, forecasting, and reporting analysis

· 2-5 years of leading a team
