Stuart Olson is currently seeking Insulators for an immediate start date. Working a 8&6 shift with competitive wages, this project will run 7 months with transfers available after.
This position is based on a client site in Conklin, Alberta. It is a 8 on and 6 off schedule, 11.5 hours per day. This is a long-term maintenance project with transportation provided from Edmonton to camp.
Compensation and Benefits

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
- Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether, or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
- Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
- Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
- Install vapour barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Maintenance experience
- Pre Access Drug and Alcohol testing required
- CSTS-20, H2S Alive and WHMIS2015 mandatory
- Fall Protection and AWP an asset
- Valid government issued Photo ID
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction
- A team player with strong people skills
Working Conditions
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Working at heights
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Must be clean shaven
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
