We are currently recruiting for a full-time Inventory Analyst to work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) – Bayview Campus, to support our In-Hospital Logistics team.

Position Overview

The primary function of this position will be to analyze supplier stock-outs and collaborate with suppliers, hospital, and Mohawk Medbuy staff to prevent or mitigate the disruption to patient care. The candidate for this position must have an ability to analyze and interpret data, maintain effective internal and external working relationships, and have excellent communication skills.

Additionally, the Inventory Analyst will provide support with inventory control, updating stock levels for corporate inventories, the management of bin locations, swapping materials in SAP, and making recommendations on appropriate inventory levels based on product usage.

The candidate will be broadly responsible for the following accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing an approved list of substitute items and partnering with clinicians to find substitute items.
  • Manage supplier stock-outs and recommend appropriate inventory levels
  • Create tools to analyze lead times, supplier minimums, safety stock, and planning values considering external factors and anticipated supply issues
  • Manage outstanding orders through communication with Purchasing and the Distribution Centre
  • Analyze EWR and short supply reports and contact affected end-users to advise status and determine appropriate course of action
  • Analyzing inventory levels and planning values, product expiration, excess/no movement items, new product additions and conversion of non-stock items to stock inventory
  • Perform cycle counts where appropriate
  • Assist with the annual physical inventory count at all sites
  • Support the Logistics team in customer service activities including optimization of supply carts, daily cart management, expediting orders, and other communications to ensure exceptional customer service
  • Maintain and retain all inventory related documentation in an organized fashion
  • Assist with the product recall process to return defective product
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes to constantly enhance operations
  • Foster effective inter-departmental relations and maintain close communication with the Distribution Centre, Purchasing, Logistics and hospital staff
Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre: Bayview site, 5 days a week
  • Community College diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Operations Management specializing in inventory control or equivalent related experience in a high-volume distribution environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical supplies is an asset
  • Experience in a computerized Logistics environment (SAP Materials Management system) preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications with demonstrated proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Committed to providing quality customer service
  • Proven experience in working in a team environment
  • Excellent time management, organizations and written and oral communication skills
