Scope of the Position
The IT Support Specialist is a member of the Information Technology team, an important shared service supporting over 15 branches and 300+ employees across Canada. Each line of business and each branch depends on IT to ensure our customers are receiving top-quality service. Our contribution and priorities are to serve our colleagues by supporting a reliable backend including technology systems, committing to offer efficient and immediate technical support, and ensuring we keep vigilant on security requirements.
The successful candidate will:
· Be a resourceful professional with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and supporting systems that improve employee productivity, streamline processes and add value.
· Results-oriented problem solver with the strategic ability to quickly learn processes and technologies, produce solutions, and effectively communicates
· Possesses a growth mindset and service-oriented characteristics, able to stand sometimes high support-ticket volume
· Is comfortable with working both independently and as an active team member. Usual work is carried out during regular business hours (two shifts available: EST 7 am-4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm) but may require evenings and weekends to complete projects or maintenance on systems.
Major Responsibilities
· Ensures desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
· Assist with server maintenance and deployment
· Monitor, manage and maintain security systems
· Documentation and monitoring of IT Systems, issues, and procedures
· Maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
· Troubleshooting network performance issues
· Recommend upgrades, patches, equipment, and new applications
· Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
· Assists in the maintenance of the telephone system (AVAYA)
· Administrates user accounts using company-provided software tools
· Participate in the management meeting for future system growth
Skill and Qualifications
· 1+ year of IT Support experience
· Strong work experience with Active Directory
· Networking expert (Cisco, Meraki)
· Strong Data Management & Server infrastructure skills
· Strong technical proficiency & hands-on technical skills
· Strong sense of urgency in dealing with business and staff needs
· Strong analytical abilities
· Working knowledge of Avaya Phone System
· Strong attention to detail & problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a strong asset
· Avaya experience is a strong asset

· Office 2016 / 2019 & 365

· Microsoft Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange Online

· Bitdefender Gravity Zone Antivirus
· Cisco / Meraki / Unifi Firewalls
· Sharp Copiers and Lexmark Printers
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
