Janitor/Driver - Full Time Job at Alavida Lifestyles
Alavida Lifestyles is seeking a Full Time Janitor/Driver for our retirement community in ORLEANS, ON. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager & General Manager, the Janitor/Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation for Residents to and from activities and appointments as well as maintaining the building and grounds in clean condition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide door-to-door transportation services for Residents
- Assist wheelchair and ambulatory Residents in and out of vehicles
- Participates in preventative maintenance program for vehicles and maintains records as indicated
- Obeys all traffic and vehicle laws and is responsible for any fines or tickets relating to the manner in which the vehicle is operated
- Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties in between rides
QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid class G driver's license and a safe driving record
- 2+ years of experience as a chauffeur or operating a commercial vehicle designed to transport at lease four (4) passengers
- Experience working with the elderly
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with Residents, families and associates
