Route: Courtenay to Port McNeill

Daily minimum guarantee of $487.93/day as per Collective Bargaining Agreement 5 tonne rate
Hours: Monday to Friday: 4:45 am to 6:00 pm (approximate hours)

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Duties: Load trailer in Courenay and deliver to Nanaimo, shunt trailers at Nanaimo Depot, Pick-up and deliver trialers to/from BC Ferries and Seaspan Barge while in Nanaimo. Deliver and unload return trails to Courenay
• Ability to meet and maintain service requirements.
• Load and unload own vehicle.
• Perform additional pick-ups and deliveries as required.
• Accurate completion and daily submission of required documentation.
• Build positive relationships with both internal customers (Purolator managers, employees, dispatch, and other contractors) and external customers.
• Responsible for hiring relief driver to cover absences.

Your Key Requirements:

• Possess a valid Class 1 Driver's License (or Class 5 with air endorsement ticket)
• Possession of a 5 tonne vehicle with power tailgate (2017 or newer)
• Possession of liability insurance and all other licenses as required by law and Purolator specifications.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted
• Valid Drivers abstract with no more than 4 demerits
• Valid WCB registration and coverage for Owner Operator and Relief Driver.
• Must supply own vehicle and maintain appearance and operation at highest industry standards.
• Must possess a valid Dangerous Goods Handling Certificate.
• Ability to pick-up and deliver all packages associated to the route area or as required.
• Complete a criminal record check.
• Must meet and maintain standards set by Purolator Inc.
• Maintain membership with Teamster’s Canada.
