Emcon Services Inc.is a proud Canadian based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial Road and Bridge Maintenance Contractor. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario as a Live-In Camp Cook.

Reporting to the Live-In Camp Manager, the Live-In Camp Cook is responsible for:

· Managing day-to-day food prep requirements and cooking all meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner for approximately 60+ live-in staff;

· Conducting administrative tasks – ie. Maintaining temperature logs of refrigerator and internal cooked foods, etc…

· Ensuring health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained

· Oversee all the kitchen operations and possess an excellent knife skills and work ethic;

· Ensuring proper safety and sanitation in kitchen in accordance with Food Safety Act;

· Checking and controlling proper storage of all food items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness;

· Incorporating into preparation any requests to comply with special dietary requirements;

· Ensuring food stocks are utilized effectively;

· Assisting with unloading, loading, and placing of groceries and supplies;

· Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

· Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must have:

· A minimum of Grade 12 education, preferably with a further degree from Technical College in a related field;

· Food handling certificate;

· Current first aid;

· Large quantity cooking experience preferred;

· Ability to prioritize multiple demands and strong customer service focus;

· Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment;

· Capable of attention to detail and able to maintain a positive attitude to coworkers

· Be able to be work a rotation of on site for three (3) weeks and one (1) week off.

This is a non-union, salaried position.
