What You’ll Be Doing:
GIT is looking for an experienced Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to join their head office, located in Dartmouth, NS. This full-time, permanent position will work collaboratively with the GIT team to implement, monitor, and expedite the supply chain activities of the company. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of products, from receiving raw materials to the delivery of final products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage inventory, storage and transportation of goods bought and sold by the company.
- Maintain existing vendor relationships and manage new relationships as the company grows.
- Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to ensure satisfactory receipt of goods.
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.
- Identify potential projects to deliver changes and improvements to the supply chain and implement selected projects.
- Ensure that all documentation for customs declarations is properly executed and planned in advance to avoid any customer delays.
What We’re Looking For:
As the successful candidate, you have a BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management, logistics or in a relevant industry, combined with a minimum of 5 – 10 years of supply chain experience. You have extensive knowledge of laws and regulations related to international shipping, customs and a firm understanding of legal regulations, ideally related to manufacturing. Experience with marine technology is considered an asset.
