Who we need
Our People team is small but mighty; comprising ten individuals who ensure everything is in place for the attraction, compensation, retention, evaluation, promotion, and retention of our 500+ (and growing) Phixers (our awesome employees). From talent acquisition to learning and development, from compensation and benefits to business partner relationship building, we are the people leading the processes and the people in front of every employee across our global offices.
We are currently looking for a Manager of People and Employee Experience who wants to play a mission-critical role in our revenue trajectory supported by our plan to enable success from a People perspective. You will spearhead projects and build programs, directly manage staff, optimize and introduce solutions and processes, and provide people management leadership on a global scale.

What you will focus on:
- You will execute the human resources and talent plan, particularly as it relates to engagement, retention, and reward initiatives to meet our growth objectives. You will consult and partner with the leadership team to understand the operational needs, identify gaps, present talent-optimizing solutions, empower Leaders with options, and contribute to the development of a healthy candidate pipeline and employee value proposition.
- Team leadership. You will manage the workflow of the department, nurture, train, and grow a team, introduce efficiencies and foster a collaborative, communicative, and creative culture.
- HR project management. You will lead new initiatives from end to end, including new program rollout. Projects you may work on may include a compensation and benefits program evaluation; implementation of a new tool to apply results of our ESAT into actionable insights in the employee journey; learning and development programming; and more. You will play a critical role in creating opportunities for stakeholder engagement, collecting feedback from our Phixers and ensuring we are adapting solutions to meet the needs of our employees. You will lead the rollout to Canada, US, UK, and Europe with support from your trans-Atlantic counterpart.
- Employee relations, performance management, and discipline matters. You will manage and facilitate international employee relations issues through to a positive resolution, mediate disputes, follow up with parties involved, and coach Leaders and staff on communication. You will manage performance or discipline matters with Leaders and staff, utilize progressive discipline principles, create Performance Improvement Plans with Leaders, and organize and facilitate terminations or lay-offs according to company policy.
- Compensation and benefits. You will advise on benefits plans and compensation practices in Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe to help the company attract and retain top talent. You will generate reports and provide analytical insights as needed.
- Employment legislation and health and safety. You will remain current on requirements in Canada and the US. You will review our policies and practices to ensure compliance with employer regulations in our geographical areas of operation. You will ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and oversee Ontario Health & Safety Committee
- Employee records. You will maintain and update confidential employee records, managing scheduled and ad hoc requests. You will manage Canadian, US and European employee relocations and immigration cases for a seamless transition, engaging a relocation firm, Immigration Lawyer or Consultant as needed.
What you bring:
- The People expertise. You have proven progressive success in People Operations and Human Resources designing, developing, and rolling out critical programs. You may have moved up to a People Partner, Program Manager, or similar leadership role. Ideally, you have worked at a mid-sized organization, with a track record of providing HR advice and creating solutions for leaders and individuals on employee and organizational issues. You have expertise in People and employee experience with exposure to all aspects of Human Resources, including talent acquisition, performance management, change management, career development, compensation, employment law, and other compliance matters.
- The technical and operational knowledge. You have the business acumen and comfort with data to build insights that are connected to People growth and success. You are detail-oriented with the ability to create, optimize, and track documents, processes, and reports. You are proficient in the MS Office Suite. You are comfortable using an HRIS.
- The collaboration skills. You are a relationship builder who is self-aware, with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation abilities. You can gain the trust of employees at any level and location and influence the decisions of stakeholders. You can encourage and achieve adoption and engagement with new processes and programs. You are a champion of a People first, inclusive, and innovative culture. You have the people and conflict management skills to overcome challenging issues through to closure and help managers build high-performing teams.
- The project management skills. You take ownership of your team's deliverables and your projects. You think creatively and have an analytical approach to problem-solving. You can contribute and adhere to project plans, generate reports, managing teams to ensure tasks are met on time, on budget, and to specification.
- The creative spirit. You are passionate about nurturing a positive, diverse, and inclusive people culture. You enjoy putting together remote and in-person culture-building activities.
