Progression Muscle Bone & Joint Clinic
Our mission is to provide a patient experience for Muscle, Bone and Joint Care that is unmatched by traditional models of care. We have created a full-service, coordinated, multidisciplinary team approach by bringing together all the key elements of orthopedic surgery, physical medicine, and rehabilitation to support a new patient-centred model of comprehensive musculoskeletal health.

The clinic, formerly Priest Valley Physiotherapy and Dr Charlie Secretan, is a new collaboration of MSK clinicians who have optimal patient care as their primary goal. There are 3 Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Physiatrist, Sports Medicine Physician and a large Family Physician referral base. We have a rehabilitation team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Kinesiologists, Psychologist and Massage Therapists.
We have opportunities for clinicians to participate directly in joint clinics with the specialists – in fact, we actively encourage this as providing interprofessional educational opportunities are one of our goals. We believe that these educational opportunities enhance the collaboration that we are attempting to achieve with the goal of providing a stimulating work environment and optimising patient care.
We also understand the importance of competitive renumeration. Our clinicians are paid extremely well, they have a generous post graduate education allowance and access to online educational opportunities will be provided. Support and mentorship is available.
The case load is a mix of Occupational rehabilitation programs, MVA rehabilitation programs, Community OT, return to work and job site visit planning. We are currently developing our OT services and are willing to support new areas of practice that the successful applicant is keen to pursue.
Physically the clinic is a new, bright, large open plan space with individual treatment rooms. We have a 5000sqft designated rehabilitation gym.
Vernon is a vibrant community in the North Okanagan situated on Kalamalka and Okanagan lake. It has numerous recreational opportunities including mountain and road biking, skiing, hiking, golf, sailing, boating and climbing. We have 4 ski hills and world class back country skiing between 25 minutes and 2 hours drive. It is conveniently located less than 30 minutes drive to Kelowna airport. We are situated mid way between Calgary and Vancouver.

Mandatory requirements:
Licensed and insured as an occupational therapist with COTBC
Must be able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Excellent communication- and problem-solving skills
Skilled in computer use for communication, charting and scheduling.
Driver's license and own vehicle for community visits
Experience and/or training in would be helpful but not essential:
Work-related injuries
Motor vehicle injuries
Mental health
Concussion / brain injury
Pain management
Occupational rehabilitation e.g. job site visits, return to work planning, work simulation
