JOB DESCRIPTION

A Lube Technician/Mechanic is a skilled member of the Service Department that will show initiative and a work ethic that could lead to an eventual apprenticeship. The Lube Technician reports to the Service Manager.

Candidates that show initiative and above-average performance will have a career path that includes promotions to an Installer, and then Apprentice, and finally, Licenced Technician. All positions are part of the collective agreement and contain increasing rates of pay and pension contributions by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Lube Technician is responsible for performing the following duties:

• Perform oil and filter changes
• Replace engine air filters
• Replace cabin air filters
• Perform basic maintenance services that do not require a Licensed Technician to supervise
• Performs inspections of the vehicles and provides the Service Advisor with a health card of the vehicle, identifying areas that may require further inspection by a Licensed Technician
• Ensure the lube pit is kept clean from grease, oil and dirt and uncluttered
• Keep his/her work area clean and organized
• Perform other tasks as asked by the Service Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the service department

The Employee’s productivity will be monitored. Employees will be expected to perform in accordance with industry standards, as well as standards and policies specific to Badanai Motors.

The hours for this position are 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A valid Ontario Driver’s License
• A full suite of tools required to perform the necessary procedures and repairs
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
