The Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Current and valid BC security license (BST)
• Preferably a Class 5 driving license – to drive to sites
• Level C – 1st Aid/CPR/AED current certification
• Min. 1 - 3 years experience as a min. level I stat security guard
• Must be fluent in English (level IV), read, write, speak
• Superior verbal de-escalation skills (NVCI definite asset)
• Superior report writing & documentation skills
• Strong computer and IT skills
• Knowledge and ability to work with digital software
• Ability to work and succeed without direct supervision
• Use of Force training (CTSS, PPCT) a definite asset
• Strong record of working with safety procedures & OH&S policies (COR certification)
• Ability to respond to and handle various site situations (ie. Unauthorized persons)

Additional assets include:

• Knowledge of and familiar with the SSIA (Security Services & Investigations Act
• Strong communication skills, … spoken, written and reading.
• Security experience in a retail and residential environment
• Superior customer service skills for clients, vendors and public

Physical abilities include, but not limited to:

• Willing to stand and/or patrol for long periods of time
• Comfortable and able to lift 40 lbs safely
• Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
• Handling of stairs & stairwells, elevators, inclines, uneven ground
• Watch & monitor computer – camera – video screens for periods of time
• Ability and flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
