Operations Engineer Job at Smiths Group
Job Description
Ensure all operational requirements are available to meet the overall manufacturing process making sure that everything is produced in the safest, most efficient and economical way possible. Other activities to include managing junior personnel, quality control and overall monitoring of the production process.
In order to improve the efficiency of production, you’ll be responsible for collaborating with others in devising automation systems and improving processes to make sure that these solutions are implemented effectively
Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate and understand root causes for issues in business operations.
- Develop corrective actions to solve the operations issues.
- Provide consulting services to solve operations engineering problems.
- Ensure operations related activities are performed in compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Initiate and manage continuous process improvements to improve operational effectiveness.
- Identify and implement cost optimization and reduction initiatives.
- Provide technical support and guidance on operations validation, development and implementation.
- Provide engineering support to operations team in achieving business goals.
- Support the start-up and integration of new operations projects.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of operational standards and procedures.
- Administers health and safety program and H&S committee meetings
- Manages all facility maintenance functions and internal maintenance team.
- Manages shop floor inspectors and work flow.
- Performs other duties as required.

The Individual
Education/Training:
- University Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a degree in another engineering discipline with equivalent manufacturing experience.
Experience:
- 3-7 years engineering and supervisory experience preferred.
