We are currently looking for Personal Support Workers in Ajax and surrounding areas.

(NOTE: Only candidates within Ontario with a SIN number and Permit are eligible to apply)

Duties as a PSW include:

• Activities of daily living such as grooming, dressing, bathing and toileting assistance
• Mobility and transfers
• Reporting changes in client behaviour and condition
• Meal preparation

• Light housekeeping - Household duties such as cleaning, laundry and washing dishes

Expectations from a PSW :

• Possess a compassionate and client-centred approach to caregiving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Requires good judgement, problem-solving and assessment abilities
• The ability to work independently and work cooperatively with home care coordinators.

Qualifications as a Personal Support Worker must have the following:

• PSW certification OR
• RN/RPN/DSW/HCA/Personal Attendant certification
• RN students with a minimum successful completion of 2 year
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed / or willing to complete
• Experience working in the community as a PSW is considered to be an asset.
• Valid "G" Class Drivers license, Having own form of transportation is considered to be an asset.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ajax, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• supportive care: 1 year (preferred)
• Resident Care Aides: 1 year (preferred)
