We have a 12 month contract Pipeline Right of Way and Vault Technician position available
If Successful, candidates will have to complete Drug & Alcohol Testing, a 5 year driver abstract review, a Criminal Background Check and provide 2 professional References
Salary Range: $32 to $36 per hour depending on education and experience level
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Also Required: High School Diploma
Overview of Daily Duties:
Regularly completing pipeline right-of-way inspection, locate and surveillance of contractor during excavation work to ensure integrity of the line. Performing maintenance of the pipeline equipment and other site maintenance (shoveling, weed trimming...). Other duties may include interfacing with landlord and ROW patrol to validate findings related to unauthorized work near pipelines, suspected leak situations as well as other basic ROW maintenance such as ROW sign fault reporting and replacement.
- Education: High school Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience required or equivalent experience through education.
- Previous experience in Oil and Gas pipeline maintenance including locates and contractor surveillance would be a strong asset.
- Experience in locating underground utilities a strong asset.
- In-field construction project experience a strong asset.
- Understanding of gas detection.
- Experience and knowledge of pumps, valves and other engines mechanic would also be an asset.
- Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Office computer skills mandatory
- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working outside for entire shift
- Must be willing to travel up to 100 km a day depending on job specifications
