The position of Primary Care Paramedic/Gatehouse Attendant will report directly to the Irwin’s Project Manager. The overall purpose of this role will be to respond to any medical emergencies and provide First Aid as well as manage and oversee the security gatehouse. This position will be at the Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton BC. This position will be on either 7 days on and 7 days off or a 14 days on and 14 days off work schedule, 12hrs per day. Accommodations will be provided in Princeton, BC.
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the specific responsibilities of this position include:
- Respond to medical emergencies or calls for first aid related services.
- Administer first aid in accordance with the Worker’s Compensation Board
- Assist with return-to-work programs and injury management
- Administer Drug & Alcohol tests onsite as required by the client
- Maintain readiness of the First Aid room and gatehouse
- Perform basic security functions such as checking visitors in and out, verifying indoctrination and training credentials and monitoring security cameras
- Provide reports, as requested, from the Site Access Control software;
- Performing basic janitorial and organizational tasks such as filing may also be required from time to time
- Other duties as defined by the Project Manager
Position Criteria:
Qualifications
- Must be PCP certified and registered in BC under WorkSafe BC
- Previous experience working in security is an asset
- Proficient at using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience working as a PCP or First Aid attendant
- Proficient use of software systems to include Office 365
- Industrial experience is an asset
- Mine site experience is an asset
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, day or night shifts
