Cascades Containerboard Packaging in Winnipeg, MB is looking for a Production Assistant to join the production team. Our general labour pool workforce provides support with various tasks from general clean-up to vacation and training relief of our full time permanent staff. Extensive training is provided to ensure employees are qualified and safe to perform the work and continuous training allows these folks to move through the progressions of our positions. We are looking for safety-minded team players that are eager to work and learn.

Job Responsibilities

A successful Production Assistant candidate will be provided with training and development to eventually assume an operator position within our press, corrugator, material expeditor or shipping department.

Responsibilities will include:

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• Energetic and enthusiastic approach, balanced with strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication, inter-personal and organizational skills
• Previous experience working with machinery
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is an asset
• Available and flexible to work a rotating shift schedule, including 12 hour shifts, overtime and weekends
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
