What we are looking for

The Production Supervisor is an essential farm leader, ensuring the objectives of the operations department are executed daily. Assigned to a specific shift, this role is responsible for coordinating activities on the production floor while ensuring the safety of all 15 – 30 personnel.

What you will be doing

  • Demonstrating strong knowledge on KPI’s, GMP, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rates

  • Leading / driving the implementation of lean manufacturing and best practices on the floor (5S, DDS and DMS meetings, Kaizen, OEE, etc.)

  • Ensuring the completion of cases attainment on the day-to-day operations of the production team.

  • Providing leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation, and training of production employees.

  • Effectively using data to measure and communicate trends; reinforce positive results and initiate corrective actions.

  • Ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective use of manpower, equipment, and material resources.

  • Scheduling equipment and employees to meet production requirements and deadlines complying with product quality.

  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.

  • Managing the line job rotation ensure that all responsible employees are trained and following assigned rotations.

  • Validating all production records and assisting on writing or preparing work procedures, SOPs, OPLs, etc.

  • Working closely with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime, ensure product safety and quality.

  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining the appropriate inventory and stock levels in coordination with procurement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Must have’s

  • The successful candidate will possess a relevant post-secondary education.

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated success in a manufacturing capacity in a food environment.

  • Mindset and vision to lead change management initiatives.

  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, and a natural leader who can guide and mentor and a team.

  • Ability to multi-task, coach, mentor and develop project team members

  • Must have experience with HMI’s and process troubleshooting to minimize downtime

  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills

Nice to have’s

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a safety culture, industrial food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.

  • Proficient knowledge and experience on Lean Manufacturing or CI tools (5S, TPM, TPS and TOC)

  • Six Sigma certification is an asset
