Professor, Media Strategies and Advertising Job at Sheridan College

Within this context of inspiring innovation and excellence, the Pilon School of Business is currently seeking a full-time Professor, Media Strategies and Advertising .

What You’ll be Doing
Ensuring program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines
Defining, evaluating and validating applied learning outcomes for courses and programs
Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles
Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning
Ensuring that curriculum centred around media, with an emphasis on digital and marketing remains current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the industry;
Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process
Ensuring that students are aware of course and program learning outcomes, learning strategies and evaluation techniques. Providing individual tutoring and academic counselling, and evaluating student progress/achievement within assigned courses
Contributing to the advancement of scholarly research and knowledge in the areas of advertising and marketing

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
Master’s degree in marketing, digital media, communications, business administration or a related field of study.
5 years of industry experience in Advertising/Marketing Communications
Specifically, experience in media planning and buying, digital and programmatic technology, owned and paid media, management, and sales is required
Excellent knowledge of Advertising/Media/Marketing Communications research and analytical tools including familiarity with broadcast/video, print/online and social media measurement databases and software (e.g. Clear Decision, Infosys+, GA4, COMMB Navigator, ComScore, Google Ads)
Sound knowledge of current advertising and marketing communications trends
2 years of experience teaching in a post secondary environment
Experience in curriculum design and development at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies is required
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and educational technologies such as D2L, and other industry standard communication tools
