Tundra Engineering Inc. (www.tundraeng.ca) is a full service EPCM. From our Cochrane, Alberta Head Office we design, procure the equipment, and manage the construction of facility projects across Western Canada and the United States. Tundra Engineering works in the Oil and Gas Industry, Power Industry and new industries such as Biofuels and Green Energy. We execute all tasks associated with such projects. As a Junior Project Engineer at Tundra, you assist in the execution of such projects under an experienced Project Engineer. We assign projects based on your experience as advance you from there. We also execute projects outside of Canada with a focus on the United States and Africa.

Specific projects can include compressor stations, oil batteries, well pads, pipelines and gas treating facilities. We execute projects up to $100MM in size. Tundra utilizes the latest technology to execute projects efficiently so a very high level of computer proficiency is essential.

A Tundra Project Engineer is expected to be a become a "jack of all trades" in the execution of projects with a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

1. A Junior Project Engineer will split his time between Process Engineering Tasks and Project Engineering tasks. This is why this posting is limited to Chemical Engineering Grads. The ability to do simulations on VMG Sim and/or Hysis is essential. Over time a more dedicated path (Process versus Project) will be chosen.

2. Prepare, interpret, or review calculations, specifications, plans, systems, or equipment with relatively few complex features.

3. Accompany and assist more senior engineers to gather and interpret field data.

4. Participate in facility planning and design.

5. Work with drafting staff to prepare schematic, process and equipment drawings, layouts, and other deliverables.

6. Perform review and evaluation of equipment vendor design data, calculations and drawings and communicate with supplier and client personnel.

7. Prepare regulatory submissions for facility projects to the ERCB, AENV, ABSA and other bodies as required.

8. Coordinate material and equipment procurement and scheduling with vendor and field personnel during construction phases.

9. Depending on experience level, provide guidance to less experienced technical and administrative staff.

Qualifications

1. CHEMICAL Engineering degree from an accredited university.

2. Eligible for registration as an Engineer in Training with APEGGA.

3. Familiarity and experience with engineering computer programs, work planning and control methods is an asset.

4. Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fast-paced environment.

5. Travel as required to ensure the successful execution of projects.

6. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

7. Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
