Tillsonburg Custom Foods has an immediate opening available for QA Technician position on our day shift! The hours for this position are Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm.

Overview:

The QA Technician will report directly to the Quality Manager, and is responsible for maintaining quality standards as directed by legislative and company standards. This role has in integral part in our overall customer satisfaction thus the ideal person for this role will have an ability to monitor, inspect and propose measures to correct or improve a company’s final products and processes.

Job Responsibilities

- Training employees on food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Company policies.

- Work directly with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to; and assist in CFIA inspections.

- Assist with SQF and other customer audits.

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

- Responsible for environmental testing and equipment calibration.

- Develop and print product labels, including the development of nutritional values and cooking instructions

- Monitoring and Verifying Quality Control tasks.

- Assist with customer complaint investigation, HOLD & Release program

- Maintain accurate and organized records of all QC and production paperwork

- Act as a backup for QC Technicians. Alternative to QA Manager

Qualifications / Characteristics:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality, preferred food processing facility.

- Knowledge of HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices considered an asset

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must positively interact with fellow employees and exhibit a strong work ethic.

- Capable of working in a moderate to cold working environment.

- Ability to stand or move continuously for extended periods of time.

- Capacity to multi-task and adapt to fluctuating work requirements
