Program Assistant - Saturday Day Respite Program

Position Summary:

ErinoakKids is currently seeking an energetic Program Assistant to support children with special needs within our Saturday Day Respite Program. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work towards supporting clients as they participate in daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating activities of daily living for participants in the Respite Program.
• Work towards maximizing client independence in day to day activities.
• Engage in general client care including feeding, dressing and toileting.
• Promote participation in leisure activities and social skill development.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities;
• Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors;
• Experience with assisting individuals in personal care;
• Current C.P.R. and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends;
• Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere;
• Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a police records check.
