Restorative Justice Pre-Charge Worker
(Term Position Ending March 31, 2024)
Under the Restorative Justice Initiative, the Restorative Justice Program will be responsible for delivering and reporting on the implementation and progress of the initiative in the target communities funded under the project.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary School
- Experience or understanding of Restorative Justice, and be able to discuss the pre-charge program with individuals in a law related capacity
- Ability to speak the Oji Cree language preferred
- Experience with travel to the Matawa communities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaising with NAPS, OPP and Local Law Enforcement to provide information about the program and what it can assist with and provide updates on the program as required.
- Liaising with Chief and Council to provide information about the program and the benefits of
Restorative Justice while providing updates on the program as required.
- Facilitation of information sessions with stakeholders
- Travel to communities to assist community-based workers.
- Service specific areas as designated by the Restorative Justice Manager.
- Other duties as requested or required by the Restorative Justice Manager.
Location: Thunder Bay
Salary: Commensurate with education/experience
Position: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Term ending March 31, 2023)
