Trenton Memorial Hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, has a bustling inpatient unit for acute medical and complex continuing care patients, performs an array of day surgery procedures and is the regional centre for ophthalmology. TMH also provides a range of outpatient clinical and diagnostic services including cardiology, pulmonary function testing, diabetes education and management, medical day clinic, mammography, CT, X-ray and laser light urology.

Required

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current CPR or BCLS certificate
• A minimum of 2 years recent inpatient surgical or medical nursing within the last 3 years
• Post Graduate Operating Room Certificate in OR nursing.
• Evidence of continuing professional development. (please list most recent 3 on application)
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (PDA available to review)

Duties

• Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
• Provides preoperative teaching to patients & families as required
• Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care in the clinic environment.
• Responsible to work collaboratively with other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
• Maintains nursing records.
• Participates in CI programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
