Department Overview
The Senior Creative Strategist will be an integral member of Agency361, TD’s Creative Center of Excellence.
Agency361 is TD’s internal Creative Center of Excellence and Content Creation team. We are a team of ~40 full time and 20+ freelancers including talented Art Directors, Production Designers, Copywriters, Editors, Producers, Account Managers and Strategists who are enabling TD’s vision of producing breakthrough, channel specific, brand building content. We work directly with the Marketing lines of business leads (Wealth, Borrowing, Credit Cards, Retail & Business Banking, Insurance and Brand) and in collaboration with our external Agency network to concept and execute content published in all formats across paid and owned channels. Agency361 is responsible for all TD marketing content creation for Digital Display, Social Channels, TD owned channels including td.com, TD Branches & ATM.
The Agency361 Senior Creative Strategist is someone who will enjoy inspiring creative teams and their Marketing colleagues to develop highly conceptual breakthrough creative ideas. You’re an innovator who is curious about content creation, marketing, and advertising. You like staying up to date on the latest cultural trends. You’re a storyteller and a compelling presenter who can easily engage senior-level marketers and inspire them to experiment with new media and approaches. Your previous experience is eclectic and may have included time at a creative or media agency as a Planner or as a Creative Strategist for a Media owner/Channel.
- Guide Creative Development with a view to elevating the work through a deep cultural understanding, powerful insights and leveraging channel best practice
- Work with Agency361 and Marketing Colleagues to facilitate the creation of strategic, insightful and inspiring creative briefs that will guide great work that achieves our KPIs
- Inspire marketing colleagues by working alongside the Agency361 Creative Team to concept and present ideas that are innovative, engaging and leverage the latest best practice.
- Be a champion for a multi-channel campaign approach where content is harmonized, and each layer amplifies the other without being identical
- Maintain a close relationship with Creative Strategists at critical Channel partners (Meta, Google, Tik Tok, Twitter, Twitch, Pinterest) in order to stay up to date on emerging trends, channel best practices and new formats
- Be a “go-to” expert resource on channel best practice and new creative formats for A361 Creative colleagues and Marketing Planning colleagues with the objective of ensuring TDs content is best in class
- Work with Marketing Colleagues to help them understand and embrace the similarities and differences between great content for Facebook, Insta, (stories, reels, in-feed, carousel etc), Tik Tok, twitch, YouTube, Pinterest and any other emerging channels or formats
- Build and maintain relationships with key Planners and Strategists at external Creative and Media Agencies
- Be a partner and champion for an integrated agency model where campaigns are developed in parallel with internal and external creative experts
- Be a Brand champion by ensuring all content is developed in accordance with TDs Brand Visual Identity and Brand Voice guidelines

- An ambassador for the Marketing department objectives and point of view on TDs Brand and its Visual and Verbal identity.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 10-15 years of professional work experience in conceptual creative/content development and/or a related field as either a planner or strategist
- You’ve likely had a range of roles, diversity of life experiences and educational backgrounds
- Proven track record of success leading small and large creative programs across a variety of channels and tactics
- Strong background in digital creative executions
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a communications, anthropology or a related creative field an asset
- Full Service In-House or External Agency experience an asset
