The Opportunity

Smart Solution is an established fintech that has been delivering innovative digital banking software to international financial institutions for over 35 years. We are seeking a senior software developer with strong Postgres, Data Migration, Linux, Java, Spring and Angular based webapp development skills to help us continue to innovate and expand our industry leading core banking suite of applications, interfaces, APIs and services.

As a Senior Java Developer/Data Migration specialist you will be responsible for developing and leading the development of large database data migration projects and work in Scrum teams to drive projects to completion. You will be responsible for working with the Business Analysis team and Quality Assurance Team to deliver solutions that exceed the expectations of our users.

Job Responsibilities

• Work in a Linux dev environment using database tools and the Eclipse platform to develop Postgres SQL scripts, Java programs, webapps, schemas, services, APIs, interfaces, MicroServices, Maven builds, Spring configurations, Jenkins builds and deployments, Postgresql configurations, schema design, sql development, database management, database tuning, xml tools, PDF libraries and network interfaces.
• Develop primarily using SQL, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, sh
• Use key technologies such as Tomcat, Spring/Spring Boot/Spring MVC, Postgresql, Angular, RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, Microsoft Build Server and Ionic Mobile App development.
• As a key member of the data migration team you will be responsible for helping convert legacy database systems into our Universa database schema in this role you will become a software/database/business logic/subject mater expert in many areas of core banking such as back end accounting systems, lending products, savings products, transactions, Day/Month/Year ends, internet and mobile banking, debit and other card interfaces, regulatory reporting, credit bureau and other interfaces.
• Assist in the creation of estimates, designs, requirements documents, user stories and end user documentation for your projects.
• Assist in the ongoing support of our solutions by working with our Customer Support team, Business Analysis team and with our clients in data conversions, resolving client issues and customizing our database schema and solutions for client requests.
• Lead teams and on/offshore engagements delivering quality, timely solutions.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in computer science or software engineering.
• Experience with development of large financial transaction based multi-tier applications using Java/Spring/Angular
• Expert Level with 10 or more years of experience Installing/Maintaining/Debugging/Developing in a Linux environment for a Linux Environment.
• Expert Level with years of experience in Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Velocity, MyBatis, PostgreSQL, Angular, RESTful and SOAP-based APIs.
• Expert Level with years of experience in Tomcat, SVN, Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins, shell scripts, PDF and Excel APIs.
• Technical lead experience (coaching/mentoring/leading) and desire to build highly effective teams that achieve highly successful results.
• Technology evangelist and are eager to experiment with and share new technologies with the team.
