Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, this newly created Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and security of all enterprise applications. The Senior Server Administrator position is an integral part of the IT Operations department and will require a wide degree of IT systems related experience, good judgement and creativity when identifying solutions to technical issues. This position contains a weekly rotational on-call component.

In the role of Senior Systems Administrator you will:

• Lead as the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM & WSUS) administrator responsible for deployment of enterprise wide software and critical updates.
• Be responsible for the administration of on premise system application solutions
• Be responsible for the administration of cloud application solutions
• Be responsible for the administration of virtual Infrastructure responsible for all configuration, patch management, upgrades, documentation and troubleshooting
• Be the Lead Administrator on IT related application solution projects requiring in-depth research, insight, analysis, design, development, security, integration and installation using full life cycle management methodologies and configurations while working closely with the IT Operations Manager.
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of comprehensive best practices documentation and support/technical services as it relates to server solutions and configurations including Disaster Recovery.
• Responsible for applying ITSM change management processes to proactively creating and maintaining all enterprise server solutions and their various functions on the network including but not limited to updates/upgrades, password management, and security
• Provide mentoring and top-level tier 3 escalation support services to all IT staff including Service Desk and Support.
• Provide any support as deemed necessary or required by the Manager, IT Operations or Vice President, IT Operations and Security.

Your education and experience:

• Post secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science / Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years experience in a server administration/engineering role showing advanced knowledge levels of integration and administration of Windows 2016/2019/2022 including all roles and features along with storage (iSCSI/Fibre channel) technologies are required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies:
  • Microsoft 365 suite including Teams Voice, Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, SCCM, WSUS, PRTG; Okta; Microsoft Windows 10/11 Workstation operating systems; Active Directory and tools; VMware vSphere 7.x, Cisco (UCS and Hyperflex) and related components; F5; Palo Alto and HPE (DL, SimpliVity, Nimble and StoreOnce).
• Knowledge of, iOS and Android an asset
• Experience with network test and monitoring tools, i.e. Solarwinds, WireShark, iperf, or equivalent
• Previous experience in the financial services industry, considered an asset.
• Critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems and challenges.
• Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
