MGEC11H3 Introduction to Regression Analysis


Course Description
:

This course will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain and analyze economic data, providing an introduction to the use and interpretation of regression analysis. Students will learn how to estimate regressions, undertake hypothesis tests, and critically assess statistical results. Students will be required to write a major analytical report. Enrolment is limited to students registered in programs requiring this course.


Lecture Section:

L01 Thursdays 1 pm to 3 pm; L02 Tuesdays 5 pm to 7 pm (Y Course)


Course Enrolment (Est):

60 each


Qualification:

Minimum: Demonstrated teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of the subject area. Demonstrated mastery of R programming language: Please provide R code written in the past year for an academic output in application along with a copy of the academic output.


Preferred: (in addition to minimum) Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidacy in a relevant area. Previous experience in teaching a similar course at the undergraduate (university) level.


Duties:

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.

In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

Note: All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Salary: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,182.42 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term $9,641.54 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $9,826.95 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,025.84 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,060.93 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,262.15 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.
