Skilled Construction Labourer:

Hawk River Construction Limited is one of the largest full-site development companies with over 45 years of business experience in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands! We proudly provide all aspects of site preparation for residential and commercial applications. Our services include: road building, septic system design and installation, excavation, hardscape landscaping, barge services, site servicing, and we are equipped with a complete line of aggregates.

We are seeking skilled construction labourers who are responsible for: taking direction from the crew foreman, use tools and equipment to complete given tasks, and to do so in a safe and professional manner.

Job Duties

· Interacts professionally with clientele in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction,

· Interacts professionally with crew, suppliers, and others,

· Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times,

· Ensures that all installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards,

· Ensures that all equipment safety and maintenance procedures are followed,

· Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day,

· Follows directions from supervisor/operator,

· Participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills,

· Communicates well with all crew members, supervisors and clients,

· Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for position succession,

· Monitors all tools equipment and machinery for needed maintenance,

· Other duties as assigned.

Employment requirements

· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions,

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs,

· Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s License,

· Proper and reliable transportation to and from work,

· Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation,

· Planning capabilities, proactive, forward thinking,

· Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail oriented,

· Proactive; takes initiative to get things done properly and without prompting; takes ownership,

· Excellent attention to detail while working in a fun and fast paced environment,

· Verbal and written communication skills,

· Good time management skills,

· Basic measurement and calculation skills,

· Speak, read and write English,

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task,

· Ability to work under pressure,

· Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background,

· Comply with all company policies and procedures,

· Punctual and dependable.

Working Conditions

· Physical Demands such as daily lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying and/or handling objects,

· Use of equipment and/or power tools,

· Working Environment: adverse weather conditions for driving and/or outdoor work,

· Noise, vibration, paint, and dust;

· Work flexible hours including occasional weekend work.
