Position Description

Title: Stockroom Clerk

Position Purpose: We are seeking a Stockroom Clerk to join our manufacturing plant in Truro, NS.

Principle Accountabilities

What you'll do:

• Request to order stock, non-stock materials and services in a way to avoid material shortages
• Receive and process all materials, services and place them in proper bins and label if necessary, report to accounting the list of receipts periodically.
• Shipping and preparing paperwork for the items going for repair, filters for cleaning and returns
• Ensure all materials leaving stockroom are properly signed out of inventory
• Conduct inventory counts and maintain computer database
• Takes care storage of materials in the proper bins and general housekeeping in the stockroom area
• Assist employees looking for parts and supply parts for vending machines
• Vendor information maintenance and inventory parts maintenance (add, update and make inactive)
• Perform data analysis and generate reports for purchasing and accounting departments
• Always look for improvement in flow of material(handling), shipping cost and material cost
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Experience in stockroom, inventory management and warehousing would be a strong asset.
• Organized
• Attention to detail
• Familiarity in using MS Excel/spreadsheet reports
• Experience with a computerized inventory management program an asset
• AMMS experience is an asset
• Good knowledge in lead time, safety stock and order cost
