Position and Responsibilities


Working with Cameco’s geo-environmental engineering group, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering support and or field work at Cameco’s northern sites which could include participation in applicable safety training, inspection programs, soil or water sampling, as well as geotechnical and/or hydrogeological monitoring.


In addition, the student will also be responsible for office work at our corporate headquarters including assisting in report preparation, electronic borehole and instrumentation log preparation, database entry and migration, as well as geo-environmental data compilation and management.


The successful candidate will work a term of approximately eight months (May 2023 to December 2023), with the possibility of extension to 12 or 16 months (April 2024 or August 2024).


Education and Qualifications


Requirements of the position:

  • You will be entering your third or fourth year civil, environmental or geological engineering or earth sciences.
  • You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco
  • Experience in independent field work is an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Ability to travel to Cameco’s northern operations and work a 7 day in/ 7 day out, 11 hour day rotation.

Interviews will take place in February/March 2023. Students will be notified if they are selected for an interview.
