YMCA GTA is hosting a virtual hiring event in collaboration with Checker Taxi, who are looking for a Driver that will work as a sub contractor with the TTC Wheels Trans division across Toronto. We encourage those who are interested to apply!

Job Details:

Job Types: Full-time, Subcontracted

Projected Gross Salary: $120 000 - $140 000 per year.

Looking for Drivers to work as a sub contractor with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Wheel-Trans division.

- Be self-employed, provide service for the Wheel-Trans Accessible Taxi contract.

- Minimum 5 days a week, 12-hour shifts (Monday - Friday, and either Saturday or Sunday)

- Providing safe and reliable transportation services for customers with limitations or disabilities across Toronto

- Working together with your in-office dispatch team to follow TTC prescheduled trips while providing service

- Driving safely throughout the city, following traffic laws, TTC and Checker Taxi procedures and protocols

- Keeping up to date with all documentation to maintain active licenses required

Work Experience for this position must include:

- Mandatory requirement 3 years’ commercial driving experience (from previous commercial insurance company)

- Abstract (can be obtained from Service Ontario)

- Vulnerable Sector Clearance

- G Class license in good standing

- Vehicle-for-Hire (Taxi) License with Accessible Endorsement

COVID-19 considerations:
Unless guidelines change: All riders and Drivers wear masks throughout their shift.
All vehicles are outfitted with a barrier partition separating the front of the vehicle from the back.

Salary: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
