The DC Hardware Support role combines traditional Workstation Services accountabilities with the specialized knowledge of Supply Chain processes and devices. Accountabilities will include deployment, support and management of client facing computer technology within the Supply Chain Offices as well as the Distribution Center work areas. Devices include, Thin clients, Tablets, Barcode Scanners, Impact & Thermal printers, and many other technologies.
The position is heavily focused on 2nd level support, and maintenance and inventory of the CTC workstation environments. This role includes on-going technology refresh and asset management initiatives as well, participate in technology planning, development, and deployment projects.
This candidate works in a Warehouse environment and will work on a rotating shift covering 7x20 (5:45am-1:45am) and requires travel between facilities in the GTA (Brampton, Bolton, Vaughan, Mississauga).
You must have access to a vehicle and a valid class G drivers’ license.
What You Will Do
Provide 2nd level incident support and resolution in a 7x20 operation
Deploy hardware and software technology to meet business requests
Participate in technology management processes, including technology refresh, asset inventory, configuration management
Participate in bi-annual Preventative Maintenance Program (PMP)
Enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development and delivery of product training to peers, and the creation and maintenance of documentation
Provide ad-hoc training as required to support client needs
Participate in business and IT projects
Project objectives:
Testing/Validating multiple devices required for deployment
Imaging/configuration of multiple device types
Asset/Inventory management
Organizing device deployment
Working closely with PM and Business staff
Documentation of process
Network mapping and management
Network patching and working with Vendor to ensure connectivity
Decommission/removal management of expired devices
What You Bring
A+ certification is required
Post-Secondary education, preferably in Computer Science
Experienced Knowledge of technology diagnosis and repair
Solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals
Superior customer service and communication skills
Familiarity with enterprise class incident management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy)
Experience with technologies used in management and deployment of Window environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Windows, Outlook, Microsoft SMS/SCCM
Ability to lift equipment up to 40 lbs.
