Purpose & Key Accountabilities

Provide comprehensive service for tool inspection, repair and certifications for both heavy duty and light duty industrial tools.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect & diagnose failures on various electrical and hydraulic components such as: Pumps, Motors, Valves, Lifting Rams, Welding machines, Power Units, control circuits, automated cutting systems, Mobile Cylinders
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits on pumps and lifting devices
  • Disassembly/inspection/repair of electrical tools and hydraulic cylinders
  • Precision measuring requirements for machining requirements on hydraulic components
  • Testing, calibration and repair of hydraulic pumps and related components
  • Assemble and install hydraulic fittings/hosing/tubing
  • Repair and troubleshooting of Lathes, milling machines compressors and other shop equipment
  • Perform certification testing and documentation of welding machines and related equipment
  • Maintain, calibrate and repair in house equipment as required
  • Small tool repair as assigned

Working Conditions

Work in an industrial setting. Some overtime may be required on occasion.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • A demonstrated commitment to working safely
  • Comfortable working with voltage ranges 16-600vac and 12-600vdc (welding machines)
  • Comfortable working with hydraulic pressure of 10,000psi
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Excellent Mechanical Appitude
  • Schematic and drawing review experience
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment

Education:

  • 4th Year Registered Apprentice or Journeyman Electrical or Millwright certificate required
  • A valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license is MANDATORY
  • Must have a valid OSSA, CSTS-09 and/or BSO or CSO certification
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
