POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure, the Project Manager will help create and implement the vibrant community of Coaldale’s capital plan through sound project delivery practices. The Project Manager will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Meticulous project records will be kept, and regular status updates will be provided to the Manager of Infrastructure to ensure alignment with project scope.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with project scope.
  • Site inspection of municipal projects to ensure that they are being constructed according to relevant specifications and are performed in a way that is consistent with industry best practice.
  • Build and maintain project management tools to track execution, meet quality standards, and manage changes in scope.
  • Act as a resource and provide supporting information/documentation to other departmental employees across the organization as needed.
  • Stakeholder engagement with parties that are impacted by municipal projects.
  • Consultation with other government agencies and private sector organizations involved in the planning, engineering, and construction phases of municipal projects.
  • Creation of engineered drawing sets and specification documents.
  • Assist with the assembly of procurement packages for construction and/or consulting services.
  • Assist Manager with the Town’s Asset Management program as required.
  • Preparation of cost estimates to assist with capital planning.
  • Coordinate various projects with third-party utility companies.
  • Directly prepare or provide input for grant applications for infrastructure projects.
  • Make presentations to Administration or Council from time-to-time for projects pertaining to the Project Manager.

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology. Registered, or eligible for registration as a certified technologist with ASET. A minimum of three (3) years experience working with municipal infrastructure. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to municipal infrastructure. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and project tracking skills / techniques. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities that exist within a small organization. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and GIS software. Possess a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license
